The Spanish Confederation of Wood, CONFEMADERA, Bancaja Foundation and the Institute of Biomechanics (IBV) were presented today at Valencia, in the framework of the Fair Habitat Guide Wood, a sensory experience.
In this study, the wood is also a good acoustic correction and therefore improves sleep quality by reducing the risk of heart disease.
The event was inaugurated by Francesc de Paula Pons, CONFEMADERA secretary general, Juan Carlos Soriano, Bancaja Foundation representative and Pedro Vera, director of IBV.Naturally, the best material for the habitat of the Twenty-first Century, which sets out the features and benefits of wood in housing, the environment, health, construction and design, among other things, in order to be a reference publication for the consumer.
This guide, prepared by the IBV with the support of the Bancaja Foundation, is a tour of the contribution of wood to the style and current trends, respect and contribution to the environment, through the health benefits that have this raw material, as well as its technical performance and its contribution to development and employment, to end up doing a walk through history where the wood has been and remains an indispensable material.
The aim of this publication is to provide consumers with accurate and adjusted to the reality on the advantages of using wood in all areas, and thus help end the false myths about this material. On the other hand is a good insulator, due to low thermal conductivity of the wood, which protects from cold and heat, as well as sudden temperature changes.
With this publication the Institute of Biomechanics, with the support of the Bancaja Foundation, continues to work for improving the sustainable livelihoods of people, focussing on the development of products and services that take into account the characteristics, needs and preferences of citizens, turning them into resources that can improve their safety, health and comfort, hence its commitment to the wood.
With the spread of this guide gives CONFEMADERA step in its efforts to promote wood in all areas, with the aim of making this material a leader in interior design, decoration and construction, forming and informing on their properties and applications.
The guide, which has made the technical presentation Habitat IBV director, Tomás Zamora, provides facts, supported by international institutions, as unknown aspects of wood as their contribution to environmental sustainability and social development as stated FAO, UN Organization for Food and Agriculture-, or who is an excellent ally for welfare, because the wood environments improve the quality of life and health and have beneficial effects on growth and the states of mood, as evidenced by a study by the IBV for the project Living with Wood.
