The project led by CONFEMADERA teach a course in collaboration with the Colegio de Arquitectos de Valencia

BUILDING WITH WOOD ARCHITECTS TO TEACH THE REHABILITATION WITH WOOD

The Spanish Confederation of Wood, CONFEMADERA, with the support of projects built with wood, is working on organizing the course 'Rehabilitate with Wood', developed in collaboration with the College of Architects in Valencia and addressed to unemployed architects, to be held next fall.

Architects can learn about the characteristics of the Spanish industry of wood, as well as species and location of logging operations in Spain and the characteristics required of certified wood.

The course aims to promote the conservation of wood in the rehabilitation of buildings and their replacement by new wooden elements consistent with the objectives of a more sustainable building.

The course, 76 hours, technicians will be given by the National Institute of Agricultural Research and Technology and Food (INIA), experts in sustainable materials, heritage experts top architects, building engineers, restorers and technicians CONFEMADERA.

It also shall deliver the Building With Wood guide developed under the project Building with Wood and intends to become a recognized document in the Technical Building Code to make available to the designers all the necessary information on the various construction elements manufactured with wood or derivatives thereof.Treatments will also learn to protect the wood and repair it, and possible finishes.

They will also be able to assess the condition and characteristics of the structural elements of wood, make decisions regarding their retention or replacement, give instructions to repair the damaged wood, propose the replacement of wooden parts for new items not maintainable and manage the treatment, recycling and / or reuse of the timber can not be reused in the building to rehabilitate.

 

On Friday May 6 was published in the B.OE. Royal Decree on Measures for the regulation and control of undeclared work and encouraging the rehabilitation of homes approved in Cabinet on April 29.
